March 2008

St Pirans day Cornwall, a day of celebration for the people of Cornwall. A new flag was raised at St neot today. Cornwall is a unique Country in its own right.

Launceston castle just after sunset and we await the Cornish Piper....

A few people are gathering...

A few more turn up including the town crier who is to accompany the piper to the top of the castle...

After the celebration there was a parade through Launceston town followed by a few Cornish Ales

Looking towards the castle and the light is failing fast, the Piper has arrived and has made his way up towards the top of the castle.

Light too poor for a good shot, the piper played Trawlawny the Cornish National anthem.
